WELCOME TO
Caleidoscopio Kids Pediatric Therapy
At Kids Caleidoscopio, we realize that your child's challenges are just one small piece of who they are - and we are committed to looking at the big picture! Our team of highly specialized therapists who work together to meet your child's needs and improve their quality of life in our sensory-friendly therapy clinic.
Occupational Therapy
Our occupational therapists actively engage your child in a variety of therapeutic activities and techniques to address their needs through play! We facilitate developing skills such as attention, emotional regulation, safety awareness, gross and fine motor control, social skills, sensory integration, and reflex integration. We support children who struggle to process internal and external sensations (interoception, proprioception and vestibular).
Sensory Processing
Sounds, sights, smells, textures, tastes, touch, movement and internal body feelings can create a multitude reactive symptoms. For example, you may notice that bright lights, background noises, certain textures, unstable surfaces are bothersome to your child, or they may constantly mouth objects or engages in excessive jumping or spinning, this may indicate sensory processing challenges. Our therapists are trained to create a tailored sensory plan with you and your child in order to meet their specific sensory needs.
Reflex Integration
Humans are born with naturally occurring reflexes that facilitate survival, development, and growth beginning in utero. These reflexes are patterns of movement which "integrate" through various stages of development. Retention of primitive reflexes can impair a child’s performance in gross and fine motor coordination, potty training, fidgeting behaviors, and short attention spans. Our therapists are trained in the MNRI method, which helps to integrate reflexes still active beyond age appropriateness.
Feeding Therapy
Feeding and swallowing difficulties can stem from a lack of oral motor skills or sensory processing deficits - sometimes even both. Our highly trained therapists can evaluate your child to determine the most effective therapy approach to address the root of your child's feeding or swallowing concerns. Our therapists are trained in specialized techniques including the Beckman Oral Motor protocol and Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) approach to feeding, which can be tailored to suit your child's individual needs. We also train caregivers to use safe and effective feeding strategies outside of sessions!
Social Skills
We honor all forms of communication, including gestures, signs, visuals, and AAC systems. Through play-based activities and scientific based strategies, your child will gain important skills for understanding what they hear, expressing themselves and engaging in social experiences in whatever format is best suited to their level of communication.
